    Al-Farouq Omar Ibnul- Khattab

    Hussein M-Al Gayyar | Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 28 | Size: 1 MB
That was `Omar ibnul-Khattab, the man of extraordinary strenght, height, broadshoulderedness thickness of hands and feet; the man who forced the people to listen when he spoke, who always hastened away when he walked, and who usually caused much pain when he struck. That was `Omar who never felt scared of anything or anybody throughout his life. It was not strange to see him facing the first Muslims with all the violence and ruthlessness he had. There was a strong enmity between him and Islam; the reason for this was that, among his people, he had been a man full of power prudence zeal and dignity power to defend his people and their beliefs; prudence to be always having watchful care of their interests; zeal to spend his time and effort to keep them in union; and dignity to provide full respect and prestige for himself and his people always and everywhere. With all these honourable qualities, 'Omar had had to face any call that might have caused disunion among his people, dispersing them, nullifying their aspirations condemning their beliefs and satirizing their gods. No wonder, then, that `Omar's violence inflicted the severest persecution and torture upon the first Muslims. We have seen how he had inherited so much of his father's brutal and violent nature. If we bear in mind that the most brutal and merciless enemy of Islam, its Prophet and its first adherents, was `Amr ibn-Hisham, after wards named "Abu-Jahl" by the Prophet and his companions, was `Omar's uncle (his mother's brother), we can easily discern that `Omar's violence was the outcome of what he had inherited from his father, and of the hideous ruthlessness his uncle used to inflict upon the poor and weak Muslims of his time.

    Animals In The Glorious Qur'an

Ahmad Bahjat | Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 155 | Size: 2.5 MB
The Ever-Glorious Qur'an presents to us the stories of the Prophets and the friends of Allah. Within these stories we find a group of animals that have played a great and significant role in history. This group of animals was mentioned in the Ever-Glorious Qur'an along with another group that included a bird, animal or plant but was actually a miracle of Allah. For example, Musa's staff that was turned into a snake. 'Isa's clay that he had formed and breathed onto it, and it became a real bird by Allah's Permission. The flocks of birds that Allah (Exalted and Glorified be He) sent to the companions of the elephant to strike them with stones of baked clay.

    # The crow that Allah sent to Adam's son in order to show him how to hide the dead body of his brother.
    # The birds that Ibrahim (Abraham) had killed and divided upon the mountaintops and then Allah gave them life again.
    # The cow of Banu Israel that Musa (Moses) ordered to be slaughtered in order to disclose the identity of a mysterious murderer.
    # The wolf that was falsely accused of eating Yusuf (Joseph).
    # The hoopoe of Sulayman (Solomon) that informed him about the Queen of Sheba.
    # The termite that ate the staff of Sulayman on which he was leaning while he was sitting dead on his chair. After the termite had eaten through the wood, the Prophet fell down and his death became known.
    # `Uzayr's donkey whom Allah put to death for a hundred years and then gave it life once again, right in front of his owner's eyes.
    # The whale that swallowed Yunus (Jonah) for a while and then threw him out to the land because he was among those who praise Allah.
    # The dog of the people of the cave that slept with them for three hundred and nine years.
    # Sulayman's ant that had called the ants to escape to their dwellings, lest Sulayman and his hosts crush them, while they perceive not.
    # Abrahah's elephant that was ordered to destroy the Ka'bah but was frozen in its place because of his fear of Allah and so he could not proceed.

    33 Lessons For Every Muslim

    Abdul Aziz Saleh Al-Shomar | Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 76 | Size: 1 MB
33 Lessons For Every Muslim: The testimony of faith denies the attribute of divinity to anyone and anything other than Allah -the Exalted. All those other than Allah, such as the angels, the Prophets, and the rest of Mankind, let alone the idols and the political regimes in the world, are not gods and thus don't deserve to be worshipped. Therefore, denial in this respect is not denial of the existence of the alleged gods, rather the denial of divinity which is attributed to them. The testimony of faith affirms and restricts divinity to Allah alone. That is, the slave must believe that Allah is the only true God, and accordingly dedicate no act of worship to any, other than Allah.
