    The Face Veil

    Shaykh Naasirruddeen al-Albaanee | Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 13 | Size: 1 MB
The following text is an edited translation of a summary of ar-Radd al-Mufhim by Shaykh Naasiruddeen al-Albaanee found in pages 5-20 of the introduction of his book Jilbaab al-Mar'ah al-Muslimah, 3rd edition, 1996, al-Maktabah al-Islaamiyyah.

The Main Errors Of Those Who Make The Face Veil Obligatory
    1. The interpretation of al-idnaa’ in the verse of the Jilbaab to mean “covering the face”.
This misinterpretation is contrary to the basic meaning of the word in Arabic which is “to come close”, as is mentioned in authoritative dictionaries like al-Mufradaat by the well-known scholar, ar-Raaghib al-Asbahaanee. However, there is sufficient evidence in the interpretation of the leading commentator on the Quran, Ibn ‘Abbaas, who explained the verse saying, “She should bring the jilbaab close to her face without covering it.” It should be noted that none of the narrations used as evidence to contradict this interpretation are authentic.

Fundamentals In Classical Arabic Vol. 1

Husain Abdul Sattar | Language: English | Format: PDF | 16 Lessons | Size: 3 MB

Traditionally students of sacred knowledge began by learning the tenets of Arabic verb conjugation. Each independent lesson was mastered before a teacher allowed students to advance. Once proficient, students then focused on the principles of Arabic grammar.

    Dangers In The Home

    Muhammad Saleh al-Munajjid | Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 25 | Size: 1 MB
Putting things right in the home is a great trust and huge responsibility which every Muslim man and woman should undertake as Allaah commands; they should run the affairs of their homes in accordance with the rules set out by Allaah. One of the ways of achieving this is by ridding the home of evil things. The following aims to highlight some evil things that actually happen in some homes and that have become tools of destruction for the nests in which the future generations of the Muslim ummah are being raised.

    In The Early Hours

Khurram Murad | Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 92 | Size: 1 MB

The title of this book, In the Early Hours, has been carefully and specifically chosen to highlight that precious but often neglected time during the night that Allah is closest and most receptive to His servants. The Messenger of God said: Our Lord descends each night to the nearest Heaven when only the last third of the night remains, and says: `Is anyone praying that I may answer him? Is anyone seeking forgiveness, that I may forgive him? Is anyone asking, that I may give to him?', and this continues until dawn. (Tirmidhi).

The later part of each night is the most conducive period for reflection and self development. It is the occasion with the most potential for the heart to be present, alert and free of worldly concerns as the Quran declares: Lo! The vigil of the night is [a time] when impression is more keen and speech more certain. [al-Muzzammil 73:6.]
This book is a collection of inspirational advice by a dear and beloved teacher, Ustadh Khurram Murad on the subject of spiritual and self development. In it he sets out the goal of the Believer- the single-minded desire to seek the good pleasure of Allah and Paradise. He then outlines the methods and instruments which must be used in the attainment of that ultimate goal.
These spiritual exhortations that follow were originally delivered in those early hours of Summer 1993 just after Salat al-Fajr as part of a course entitled Self Development for Islamic Workers at The Islamic Foundation, Leicester. That course represented one of many similar courses Ustadh Khurram conducted for young Muslims, both male and female. He recognised that it was in the young generation's eagerness, strength and enthusiasm that the future of the Muslim Umma lay.
Each of the seven sections in this book represents one Nasiha or Advice. Each Nasiha was delivered in a presentation of approximately 45 minutes. This time allotment was not, of course, sufficient for Ustadh Khurram to discuss the subjects in detail. I have therefore drawn material from several of his other speeches and works for `thoroughness', coherence and to provide clarity on the topics discussed. I have also added Quran and hadith references wherever I felt they were relevant and added to the richness of the text. Only Allah knows how close I have come to making clear the Message of the Quran and the Sunna as expressed by Ustadh Khurram.'

    The Lofty Mountain

Shaykh Abdullah Azzam | Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 158 | Size: 2 MB
The Lofty Mountain is perhaps the last book written by the late Shaykh Dr. Abdullah Azzam before he was killed. Part I is the biography of the late Tameem Al-Adnani, one of Dr. Azzam's closest comrades of the Soviet-Afghan war. Part II is a unique first-hand account of the infamous battle 'Lion Den Operation' in Afghanistan.

'Shaykh Abdullah Azzam was responsible for reviving Jihad in the 20th Century' - Time Magazine
Time Magazine described Shaykh Abdullah Azzam as the man who wasthe ' reviver of Jihad in the 20th Century'. Abdullah Yusuf Azzam was born in the village of Ass-ba'ah Al-Hartiyeh, province of Jineen in the occupied sacred land of Palestine in 1941 CE. He was brought up in a humble house where he was taught Islam, and was fed with the love of Allah, His Messenger (saw), those striving in the Way of Allah, the righteous people and the desire for the Hereafter. Sheikh Abdullah Azzam was one of the first Arabs to join the Afghan Jihad against the communist USSRIn 1979, when he learned about the Afghan Jihad, he left his teaching position at King Abdul-Aziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and went to Islamabad, Pakistan, in order to be able to participate in the Jihad. He was a fine example of Islamic manners, in his piety, his devotion to Allah and his modesty in all things. He would never adulate in his relations with others. Shaykh Azzam always listened to the youth, he was dignified and did not allow fear to have access to his brave heart. He practised continual fasting especially the alternate daily fasting routine of Prophet Dawud (as). He strongly counselled others to practice fasting on Mondays and Thursdays. The Shaykh was a man of uprightness, honesty and virtue, and was never heard to slander others or to talk unpleaasently about an individual Muslim. On 24 November 1989. The enemies of Allah planted three bombs on a road so narrow only a single car could travel on it. It was the road Shaykh Abdullah Azzam would use to drive to the Friday Prayer. That Friday, the Shaykh together with two of his own sons, Ibrahim and Muhammad, and with one of the sons of the late Shaykh Tameem Adnani drove along the road. The car stopped at the position of the first bomb, and the Sheikh alighted to walk the remainder of the way. The enemies, lying in wait, then exploded the bomb. A loud explosion and a great thundering were heard all over the city. People emerged from the mosque, and beheld a terrible scene. Only a small fragment of the car remained. The young son Ibrahim flew 100 metres into the air; the other two youths were thrown a similar distance away, and their remains were scattered among the trees and power lines. As for Shaykh Abdullah Azzam himself, his body was found resting against a wall, totally intact and not at all disfigured, except that some blood was seen issuing from his mouth. Sheikh Abdullah Azzam himself once said, " Indeed Islamic history is not written except with the blood of the Shuhadaa', except with the stories of the Shuhadaa' and except with the examples of the Shuhadaa'. " May Allah (swt) accept him amongst them.

    The Day Of Wrath

    Dr. Safar al-Hawali | Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 123 | Size: 1 MB
The *******s of this booklet are glad tidings to the oppressed people of the occupied territories particularly, and to all Muslims in general. However, it was not written to give them glad tidings, the Qur’an and the Sunna are sufficient for that purpose. Any other source has limits to its reliability and therefore cannot be the basis of Muslim belief, in contrast to what is supposed by some Christians, Jews and Muslims. No, this booklet was written only to outline terms for engagement with the theoretical foundations of Zionism in its two facets: Jewish Zionism and Christian Zionism, the enemy which has distracted the world, and filled the airwaves as well as books with talk of Biblical Prophecy –especially since the latest intifadha.

    Islam And Secularism

    Shaykh Salman b. Fahd al-Oadah | Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 15 | Size: 1 MB
This short treatise began as a lecture that I gave many years ago at the Abû Bakr Grand Mosque in Madinah. My speech was concise and quite general, though the topic itself is vast and multifaceted. I have kept this treatise equally as concise to provide for readers who just need a general introduction to this topic. For those readers who want to explore this matter further, there are many books available. One of the best, in my opinion, is the book Secularism written by my esteemed colleague Sheikh Safar al-Hawâlî. The struggle between Islam and secularism is nothing new. It is just the age old struggle between Islam and Jâhiliyyah1 in a new guise. Jâhiliyyah, the way of ignorance, comes in many forms, has many names, and adopts various symbols, but it always has the same common denominator – polytheism. The conflict between Islam and secularism is none other than the conflict between Islam and polytheism. It is the struggle against the enemies of the Prophets that began in antiquity when Allah sent the very first Prophet to humanity and it will continue until Allah puts an end to the Earth and everything on it.

I have organized this treatise into the following chapters:
Chapter One: A Contemporary Manifestation of Jâhiliyyah
Chapter Two: No Place for Secularism in the Muslim World
Chapter Three: How Secularism Came to Islamic Lands
    Chapter Four: Defining a Secularist
Chapter Five: The Need to Confront Secularism
I ask Allah (SWT) to make this effort of mine exclusively for His sake and to accept it from me.
I humbly ask Him to reward me for it and to forgive me my mistakes. Truly, Allah (SWT) is
    capable of all things.

This book is a consise work on the importance of repentance during the holy month of Ramadhan. It is an invigorating short book that insh'Allah will provoke an emotive response and inspire the reader to take advantage of the blessings Allah has permitted us.
