i encountered this problem in Dubai and it is mentioned in DEWA regulation and they put allot of consideration on this matter. all consultants and DEWA engineers check the proper procedure of installation. they assume the load of one socket to be 200 watt. if you connect 5 sockets together or more this means the total load is 1k watt or more. all power circuits fed with 4 mm2 single core wires. but the problem if the number of sockets is big. this implies more load and more current. we can put a wire with across section more than 4 mm2 like 6mm2.
but do you think this will solve the problem. i think yes.
but as BS regulation. all poeple know that 4mm2 is the wire selected for small power applications. it is just a regulation and dont forget the safty factors in these regulations.
so to provide more current we put tow wires for the circuit as a ring.
but dont forget
if your consultant agree. DEWA engineers will not.
so add another bracker for the circuit..
finally it is a regulation depending on the safty factors that they adopted in their laboratories..
