Alexander Fleming

His name was Fleming, and he was a poor Scottish farmer. One day, while trying to eke out a living for his family, he heard a cry for help coming from a nearby bog. He dropped his tools and ran to the bog. There, mired to his waist in black muck, was a terrified boy, screaming and struggling to free himself. Farmer Fleming saved the lad from what could have been a slow
and terrifying death.

The next day, a fancy carriage pulled up to the Scotsman's sparse surroundings. An elegantly dressed nobleman stepped out and introduced himself as the father of the boy Farmer Fleming had saved.
"I want to repay you," said the nobleman.
"You saved my son's life."

"No, I can't accept payment for what I did," the Scottish farmer replied, waving off the offer. At that moment, the farmer's own son came to the door of the family hovel.

"Is that your son?" the nobleman asked. "Yes," the farmer replied proudly.
"I'll make you a deal. Let me take him and give him a good education.

If the lad is anything like his father, he'll grow to a man you can be proud of."
And that he did. In time, Farmer Fleming's son graduated from St. Mary's Hospital Medical School in London, and went on to become known throughout the world as the noted Sir Alexander Fleming, the discoverer of Penicillin.
Years afterward, the nobleman's son was stricken with pneumonia.

What saved him? Penicillin.
The name of the nobleman? Lord Randolph Churchill.
His son's name? Sir Winston Churchill.

Someone once said what goes around comes around.

This short story on friendship is very inspiring and tells you about true

Long time ago in ancient Greece, there was a man named Socrates who was highly knowledgeable and an esteemed philosopher. He was approached by a fellow one day. That person told Socrates that he has some information to tell him about his friend. Before he could even start talking about his friend, Socrates told him to take a test known as the Triple Filter Test.

The first test was the filter of truth. Socrates asked him if the information he had was the truth. The person said that he had just heard it on the way and was not sure if it was the absolute truth. The second filter was that of Goodness. He asked if the information was regarding anything good about his friend. The man said it was actually the opposite. The third filter was that of Usefulness. Socrates asked if the information was useful to him in any way. The man replied in the negative.

Socrates then replied that when the information regarding a friend is not true, good or useful, then why it should be conveyed at all. The moral of the story is that you may always participate in loose gossip, but when it comes to your friends it is just not worth it. You know your friends better than others. So you must avoid talking behind the back of your dearest friends. It only leads to strained relations and shows that you are not reliable or trustworthy as a friend.

As we all know, we shouldn't backbite anyone , that's what our relegion says , cause backbiting others is too bad habit actually . On the other hand, this story has added a very important point , that's we should keep our friends' secrtes... We all should know that our friends may talk something with us that may don't want others to know about, and may talk about something in some way and some conditions but they don't want anyone to convey this information to others in their ways .. cause it's so difficult for others to grasp and understand the relationship between the first couble , and the condition whithin is the discussion was already opened.. and and and.. etc.

by the way.. i wanted to add some new vocab, which we can use instead of the expression "talking behind the back" ... it is : To Backbite

thanks again brother.... we're waiting for other interesting stories, and more interaction from our friends in this forum

actually no, it's not like that

you know what?? i've already thought the same to what you say now, but after i have asked, i knew the right words

you know what?? this word (backbits) is compound of two words, (bite back)

of course you know what the meaning of these two words, don't you?? so you can understand where this word (backbite) come from, cant you ??

for this reason, we can say:
as we say: bite - bit - bitten
so it's : backbite - backbit - backbitten

you see now??

so we can say, eng.amani backbit abol7oulool yesterday

so amani is what?? amani is backbiter now looooool

don't worry sister, i'm only kidding ... hope i could answer your question well
