of course, i do admit with u the best way to learn english well is to travel to a country in which english is the 1st language. however, me and u know that most people can't start with this step, so what should they do?? i think u aslo agree with me to start studying english depending on the tools that they could work on

Hi every one ,

Travelling is a very good idea , maybe it will be the next step after using this useful tools .but their are so many accents in English each country has its own esp words and also different Grammers , we can discover that in te spoken language .

For example , until now I couldn't understand the indian people when they are talking English >>>>

What do u think about accent ?

Plz Abu al holol , correct my mistakes here , if u find any think wrong .

actually i was about to say... yeah, you're right 100% when you talked about accents, cause accents are different between british and americans... but hold on please, you're talking about indians?? lol, this indian english is not the typical english that we should learn about, it's a new english that they use to keep in touch with others... unfortunately, all my friends working in arabian gulf now are talking only indian english now lol

by the way, there are many differences between british english and american english, it's not only about accents, it's about many things like:
1- accents
2- vocabulary
3- spelling

about accents, we all know the following words: direction, dimension... and some similar words
british people pronounce them like: die-rection ... die-mension
however, americans pronounce them like: de-rection ... de-mension

about vocabulary, for instance, for the word (strange)... americans and british people usually use different synonyms:
british people say: odd = strange
americans say: weird = strange

about spellings.... there are alot of words written in different ways between both of british and american english
for instance, the word (organize) ... americans write it exactly like what i wrote here (organize) ... but british people write it like this way (organise) ...
another example, the word (color).. in american english it's (color), but in british english it's (colour)... the same for the word (behavior..and behaviour)... etc
i'll try to bring the most common differences which are about spelling

ok sister... you know that i'd like that people speak speak speak and speak , even if they make alot of mistakes... i mean the most important thing is how to express yourself.. in my opinion, how to express yourself is much more important than how to write without making mistakes

i'd prefer that you rephrase this statement to be like this: it might be the next step

it's only about spelling, these useful tools

also about spelling there are

there's a missing word here.. each country has its own accent... or ... each country has its own one

this statement is good, but i'd prefer that we say (vocabulary) instead of (words), and (grammar) instead of (grammar) ... it's not a mistake, but it's only about rephrasing

there's no need to put an artile here, which is (the), coz we talk in general

by the way, even me could make mistakes, i'm good at english, but i'm not perfect... so we can discuss even my writings, and all of you can correct me when i'm wrong, so that all of us can benefit of this thread.. ok??

I appreciate that , and feel happiness every time I read my friends ' post in this thread maybe I'm not a brave student enough to face my poor vocab, maybe a kind of laziness cuose I need using dictionary every time to share u here , so I Just follow-up without participation but you are strongly encourage us to use our language .

btw, ur very good at english , but u should speak more more and more, in order to use english fluently

in order to be able to use english without thinking in arabic , first of all, u should learn more phrasal verbs, expression , and use them... second, u should go through english discussions...

in my opinion (it's only an opinion that may be right and may be wrong), i like the american method in teaching english..

american and british methods in teaching english are different..

british method focuses on the grammar, and how to use it when writing or speaking.. i mean they're interested on how to make u speak the correct typical english more than teaching u how to express urself

on the contrary, american method focuses more on how to make u know well how to express urself... i mean they don't go through grammar that much comparing with going through constructions, phrasal verbs, expressions... etc

so i think american method is more interesting than the british one..

for example, here in ur post i understood what u wanted to ask me although ur post contained some mistakes, and that's what's the most required thing of us, which is how to express ourselves. on the other hand, i didn't correct ur pose coz i'm afraid that if i corrected the mistakes of anybody, he would be angry with me, and he wouldn't participate again in this forum loool... in addition, although im good in english, i'm not that perfect english user, so even me could make mistakes, so i'm not the perfect corrector

after all of this long boring introduction , i'll answer ur question directly

i studied many american series, which are (respectively) :

1- New Interchange
2- Passages
3- NorthStar

these series are very interesting, and i benefited alot of'em, and i advise all of u to go through these series

i'm thinking in going through these series with each other on this forum, but i'm waiting for having the enough free time to start with this huge work lol
