actually it's a great website; however, from my perspective, i think it contains alot of information, which should be organized in other way, so that we might not feel lost when reading the written information in it..
anyways, it's really great.. but like what i promised u this morning, i wanna discuss only a few points from the very much points included in this website with u, even if u haven't discussed my post, which is the 3rd lessom lol
my first note is about this picture
actually, i disagree with this note
i think it's better to use some words instead of using (and, but, so) at the beginning of a sentence.. for instance:
1- instead of using (and) at the beginning of a sentence, we can use many words, like:
also - in addition - as well as - besides - furthermore - moreover
2- instead of using (but) at the beginning of a sentence, we can use many words, like:
however, on the other hand
3- instead of using (so) at the beginning of a sentence, we can use many words, like:
because of that...
my 2nd note is about this picture:
i think we can summerize these information and write them in a simple way:
1- in formal speaking (typical english), we don't use the word (like), but we use two kinds of words instead
- as if = as though .... when we talk about feelings or emotions
e.g. i feel so cold, as if i were in a refregirator
- as = the way .... when we talk about some case of comparing
e.g. when i was a child, i used to play football, as my father did when he was my a child too
2- in informal speaking (colloquial english), we can use the word (like) instead of the words that we talked about in the previous point
it's only to talk more about this subject, it's not necessary that i'm always right, i may be right, and i may be wrong, so u can disagree with me, and no one will reject u out of this forum lol
